Respected Principal, teachers and all my dear friends.

I am _______ from standard _______. Would like to speak a few words about Holi. Holi is the festival of colours. The festival is celebrated for two to three days. Holi is celebrated in the spring season. Hindus believe that spring is full of colours so they throw coloured water on each other. Holi is based on a legend about King Hiranyakaship.

It is celebrated with great joy and enlightenment. People prepare sweets and enjoy them. They also worship God. Everybody puts on new clothes. They enjoy the day by throwing colours on each other. Children make much enjoyment and happiness by playing with colours and they also use water gun for playing with colours. People dance throughout the day and drink a special drink called the “bhang”. People of all ages relish holi’s special delicacy “gujiya” ardently.

In short, Holi spreads love and brotherhood. It brings harmony and happiness in the country. Holi symbolizes the triumph of good over evil. This colourful festival unites people and removes all sorts of negativity from life.

We should avoid unhygienic colours and chemical colours, which can harmful to our skin. So, we should celebrate Holi in a decent way. We must realise that it is a festival of joy and friendship. Thank You and Happy Holi.

I am ______ from standard _______. I would like to speak a few words about holi. holi is the festival of colours. It is celebrated across all parts of India with great joy and enthusiasm. This festival falls on the full moon day that is Purnima of Phalgun month.  holika dahan is done in the evening of the full moon day where people gather in front of the bonfire and pray that their internal evil be destroyed the way holika was killed in fire. On the morning of the next day people throw colours on each other. Many people sprinkle watery colours and colourful balloons on each other.

Everyone enjoys this festival by singing, dancing and eating tasty food.  This festival signifies the victory of good over evil. It is a festive day to meet family and friends, forget and forgive and repair broken relationships. With this I conclude my speech. Thank you and Happy Holi.
